Today,as I was sleeping deeply dreaming of a huge orgy with a bunch of Playmates in a tropical setting (yeah right!), I was woken up with my sister´s hellish voice and a smack on the face. Considering that this way of waking up is enough to spoil someone´s morning and immediately lead to a temper tantrum, I was just about to yell at her and possible throw anything that I could get a hold of right at that time. But no, it wasn´t her that slapped me. She threw something at me,and that something was a big yellow envelope fresh from the mail box. And yes, it was from Kyle "El Cabron" Cooper. For those of you that don´t know Kyle, he was my co-worker in Vancouver, but after a few months he became one of my best buds. Inside the envelope I found this long long, yet informative letter, a postcard and two CD´s that are just hilarious, well, only one of them (the funny one) is called Cheese Hits of All-Time. I really don´t wanna go in-depth and tell you guys why this CD is funny, because this is more of an inside joke. not that I don´t wanna tell, but it´s just a long story. Seriously, the envolope I got this morning made my day and made me realize how much I miss my true friends that are far from me right now. I don´t even have to say who you guys and girls are, because you already know it. Anyway, thanks a lot Coops!

A few minutes ago, I was watching a famous Mexican talk-show that I hadrly ever watch. But this time it was really interesting. They had this dude who devotes his life to ghosts and freaky shit go to the show and he showed some videos of exorcisms and voice recordings in cemeteries. I´d say I´m skeptic about all those things, but this time I really freaked out. It was real stuff and it really made me wonder about the existence of such things that we hardly think of,unless we experience them. You really had to watch what they showed to understand what I say. Even right now my sister is kinda shocked. But it was fun watching that....TV in Mexico is as boring as listening to a bowling match on the radio, so it was a nice change.

Tomorrow I´m applying for a consular assistant position at the British Embassy. Wish me luck guys!

Weekend

After a long time of not posting anything, here I am once again to keep up with the tradition of boring everyone with my posts. Last weekend, we celebrated my dad´s birthday with a huge lunch. The family was invited, and when I say the family, I´m talking of about 30 people. But the highlight was that we invited a few of my dad´s friends that lost touch with him many years ago, including two cousins that left Mexico 30 years ago. But the cool thing is that my dad never even thought that these people were coming,so it was a huge surprise for him. These days his health has been quite bad and we just went through really scary days as we feared he had a major health problem, but luckily things aren´t that bad with him and he´ll be able to recover; not soon, but little by little. So it was great to finally see him smile, and to see him enjoy himself like a little kid. I just put myself on his shoes for a minute, and I think I´d crap my pants if I was to see all those I love next to me, at least expected moment.

After that I ended up going to this weird party where everyone had to wear black clothes and a tattoo. I ended up painting something on my face that really looked like a tattoo and it was quite cool...to bad I have no pics, but if I manage to get one, I´ll make sure to show all of ya.

A few nights ago I had the weirdest dream ever,it was about something I´ve never even thought of doing and I never will. I had this dream about me jumping into the shower, and in my dreams, there was this kinda law where people my age had to die in order to keep the population down, plus some religious belief. So once I was done taking a shower, I broke my neck with my own hands, and then everything turned black and that was it, I was dead. I woke up scared to death, and I don´t know if dreams have meaning or not, but I just hope it means something good. For those of you who believe dreams have meanings, what do you think of this one? Please tell me,I´d love to hear some ideas.

Anyway, I´ll better hit the sack soon. A long lineup awaits me at the Canadian Embassy tomorrow morning.

Euro 2004 final

Damn! Who would´ve thought that Portugal and Greece are the ones playing the final game in a few hours? talk about how unpredictable soccer can be! I guess it kinda makes sense that Potrugal made it this far thanks to their Host condition, but once again, I really don´t think they have the skills nor the experience to play the final game. And no point taking about Greece! I just can´t believe it! To be honest, I think Greece has nothing when it comes to soccer..sure,they had a couple of good games, but their system is boring and dull, and it´s based on taking advantage of the slightest mistake any team makes. Not to mention the never-ending tackles and roughness. But oh well, I guess that´s what made them get to the final stage. But wether they win or not that´s completely irrelevant; the fact that they beat the crap out of the French is good enough.

The next tournament is the Copa America, which starts next week I think. Mexico is bound to do really well on this one, but I dn´t think they´ll win the cup. I think this time either Brazil or Peru will win. But that remains to be seen. Sadly enough, there´s no way Mexico will win simply because the refs always go against the Mexican squad...it´s well known that our team is not liked in South America. Kinda weird that everytime Mexico makes it to the semi final of the final, they end up getting players kicked out of the game for no reason and thus losing at the end. I guess it would really hurt to have a North American team win a South American cup,eh?

Anyway, as you guys might realize, there´s not much I can talk about because there isn´t much happening besides soccer. Oh, I have a job interview next week! please cross your fingers for me!
